Anat the wedding, pause for moments and just take a look a time the people surrounding you, from your partner to your family and friends. The love is so palpable and unreal… that’s all that matters.

From the couple: The venue itself is so cute and quaint, and with such a gorgeous backdrop of the San Francisco skyline nearby which you can see in our Aracely Cafe Wedding Photos. As such, we worked to keep the feeling of the wedding simple, yet intimate and warm. I loved the blush pink color of the bridesmaids dresses, and in terms of the flowers I wanted the green garlands to make the tables feel beautiful and homey, while the maroon flowers provided a bold fall accent. Besides the traditional Greek cookies that Andrew’s mom and aunt made, our wedding was anything but traditional, with one of our best friends marrying us and telling personal stories about each of us in his speech. We wanted everyone to feel the spirit of our love, and to not stop dancing the whole night. My mom designed and put together my and my bridesmaids’ bouquets. All I really wanted were white flowers with deep, maroon accents of some sort. She made beautiful bouquets using lillies. Our venue coordinator Linda provided the rest of the flowers, including the ceremony arch, which consisted of some beautiful white and maroon flowers. The garlands provided a lot of natural greenery to the dinner tables. Humphry Slocombe provided an ice cream cart for our guests with 5 flavors of ice cream, which was a massive hit (we hear- sadly, we never left the dance floor while the cart was outside!!) Andrew and I wanted to surprise everyone by dancing our first dance to “Mi Gente”— we did a bit of salsa and a bit of goofy freestyle, and that was so much fun to do together. We loved our sparkler exit- running up and down between all our loved ones wielding smoking sparklers was so much fun (with high stakes of catching fire). And having glow sticks at our wedding was such a surprisingly fun and easy way to make our friends and family happy, and provided a neon glow to our dance party all night. I found my dress at a cute little boutique in Corona Del Mar called the White Dress. Honestly, all I had in mind was that I wanted something with lace. When I tried this dress on I fell in love with the incredible floral lace pattern and off the shoulder sleeves. It felt like it suited my body and accentuated it in the right places. And Andrew? He knew he wanted blue and as such, ordered a blue suit from the Black Tux 🤣 We met on the dating app Hinge. It’s unbelievable our life has now started all based on some computer algorithm that someone programmed. The proposal happened at Torrey Pines beach in San Diego, where Andrew had all our friends and family sneakily hiding up on a vantage point while he proposed during a hike. It was a gorgeous sunny day, and so romantic and meaningful that our loved ones were there. Our vows- we both wrote our own and they were both very honest and real (a bit from them- Andrew promised me a dog, and to encourage me to do pursue something creative one day despite my fear of failure, and I promised him I would learn how to budget, keep my credit card utilization low and get my credit score to excellent one day to help him refinance our mortgage 🙂 ).  Remember what is important to you both, especially when you start getting into the nitty gritty of the planning. For instance, late into the planning when I was getting overwhelmed with details, like the lengths of the air-plants I wanted to hang behind our sweetheart table, I should have just thought about the fact that we’d booked an amazing DJ who would keep everyone dancing all night. THAT was what was important. The air-plants will look just fine :).
