THE WEDDING DAY
For us, the most important part of our wedding was creating a weekend where all of our closest family and friends could step away from everyday life and simply be together. We wanted it to feel like an escape—a place where everyone could slow down, celebrate, and make memories together. That’s why we chose Carmel-by-the-Sea. It’s one of our favorite places, and there’s something so peaceful, romantic, and timeless about it. It felt like the perfect backdrop for the start of our marriage.
Our inspiration was rooted in old California charm with a classic, timeless aesthetic that blended seamlessly with the coastal beauty of Carmel. We envisioned a day that felt elegant without being overly formal—almost an old Hollywood California vibe, mixed with the relaxed atmosphere of a beach town and luxury resort. We wanted every detail to feel intentional, sophisticated, and effortless, with a few whimsical touches woven throughout.
Our color palette centered around different shades of green, creating a fresh, natural look that complemented the surrounding landscape. Overall, we’d describe the style as modern vintage—classic and refined, but still warm and inviting.
When it came to the ceremony, we chose to keep things very traditional. Having the bride’s family pastor officiate made it incredibly personal and meaningful. We also incorporated several family heirlooms, including silver pieces that have been passed down through the bride’s grandparents and mother, allowing us to honor generations of family throughout the celebration. Favorite Bible passages were also included in the ceremony, reflecting the faith that has been an important foundation in our relationship and the life we’re building together.
THE COUPLE
Every year, my family takes a trip together over the Fourth of July, and traditionally, boyfriends weren’t invited—there are four sisters, and there was never much room for an extra person at the condo! So when Patrick joined us for the trip, I thought nothing of it.
One evening, we were getting ready for dinner when my dad left early for a “meeting.” Meanwhile, my mom and sister kept encouraging me to dress cute and look nice because they wanted to take pictures by a waterfall. When we met my dad at the trailhead, he casually mentioned that it was a bit of a walk to the waterfall, so we started hiking down the trail…in our nice dinner clothes.
That’s when I started to catch on.
When we reached the end of the trail, my dad told me to walk a little farther down the path. As I turned the corner, I saw Patrick walking toward me. That’s when I realized what was happening—and he popped the question!
I was completely surprised. It was the best day, and such a special memory with my family that I’ll always cherish. ♡

A Love Poem For The Happy Couple:
“I love you for what you are, but I love you yet more for what you are going to be.I love you not so much for your realities as for your ideals, I pray for your desires that they may be great, rather than for your satisfactions, which may be so hazardously little.A satisfied flower is one whose petals are about to fall. The most beautiful rose is one hardly more than a bud wherein the pangs and ecstasies of desire are working for a larger and finer growth. Not always shall you be what you are now. You are going forward toward something great. I am on the way with you and therefore I love you.”
