From the couple:

Dom and I met while we were both living in San Francisco. He proposed on the first night of our week long vacation in Los Angeles with my family. We celebrated the next day in Disneyland! Dom blew me away with the ring. He separately picked out the diamond and setting and had them put together. I had no say in the ring but it truly is exactly what I wanted.

Wedding Theme:

We didn’t have any specific theme in mind. Our main priority was that the day could be special and romantic for us and fun for all of our guests. I believe we accomplished both! We loved that our venue was gorgeous but also had a very laid back vibe. Cocktail hour was poolside which later provided as a great way to cool off as guests started jumping in!

Wedding Style:

I loved my dress because although it had classic elements to it, it is also very modern and unique and was perfect for the wedding photos at Purple Orchid Resort and Spa. I also loved that it is relatively light-weight and on the day of when it was over 100 degrees I was very thankful! My bridesmaid were in long dresses that were a slightly off burgundy color. I found them online, which made me nervous but I was very happy with how they turned out.

Dom and the groomsmen were in grey tuxes with neutral colored vests and ties. Fashion is not one of my strengths, but my mom helped a lot with picking everything out and I was very happy with how it all turned out.

Wedding Florals:

I trusted my florist to pick out all of the flowers and I am SO happy I did. I thought my bouquet was absolutely stunning and I could have never put that together myself! We didn’t feel the need to decorate the ceremony space too much as the venue was already lush with flowers and greenery. We had two wine barrels topped with flower arrangements on either side of us and that’s it!

Wedding Ceremony:

Dom’s godfather was our officiant and my favorite part of the entire day was the ceremony. It was so special to have him marry us. We also decided to write our own vows. Dom started to choke up during his which was so unexpected and a moment I will never forget.

We used instrumental version of A Thousand Years by Christina Perri and Perfect by Ed Sheeran as our processional songs; both make me tear up now whenever I hear them on the radio.

The reception took place on the other side of the archway we were married under in the orchard where we were surrounded by olive trees. We had a combination of long farm tables and round with different centerpieces depending.

Reception:

The bar was a large wooden table with a wooden board as a backdrop. We had a full open bar but identified each of our favorite drinks; Dom’s a highball which is a whiskey cocktail and mine a Bellini a champagne based drink. Both are delicious!

Advice:

My day of advice for future couples would be to let go of all the planning and scheduling you have done and trust your coordinators and vendors to do their jobs. It is such a cliche but it is SO true that the day goes by so fast, so it is important to take in every single moment and just enjoy yourself – it really is the best day of your life!
