From the couple:
For our wedding I wanted something that really represented us as the two nerdy nature loving lovebirds we are. I chose the particular color palette because it fit so wonderfully with our natural and romantic theme. Although we did not have cultural/religious items in our ceremony, we did add our own nerdy twist. Our officiant was our previous dungeon master in the more recently popular Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) tabletop RPG. As such, we created “magical” properties for each other’s rings in order to make the moment even more meaningful and add our personalities to it.
Florals:
Our wedding florals were very unique and I greatly thank Justin (greeneryalajcap) for putting together something so magical. I asked for lots of greenery and subtle colors such as blush, ivory, yellow and of course green. The florals really tied our look together and with the use of garden roses, lilies, orchids and many more.
Theme & Décor:
We wanted our guests to truly feel relaxed and to have fun at a normally very formal occasion, so our ceremony was full of our personalities and involved our own written vows to each other. Also, the processional song for the wedding party minus me was the Jurassic Park theme song, so fun and sounds so whimsical! My mom made all the lantern centerpieces and succulent favors, that made my day so special! My favorite part of the wedding was enjoying the moment with the closest family and friends by our side. Chris wanted our tables to be named after mountains and mountain ranges, he designed our table cards!
Wedding Style:
I always wanted a wedding dress with an off-the-shoulder look and I found the essence of Australia perfect dress at a little bridal shop in Pleasanton, Ca (j’aime bridal). I was craving a romantic look that was something out of a fairytale, almost like Cinderella. My wedding dress has beautiful lace detail and beading throughout with a corset top, there are buttons on the back leading into the train.
The train is elegantly dramatic and romantic, just as I had wanted with a soft ivory over the moscato fabric beneath.
Chris chose his and his grooms’ looks on his own at men’s warehouse. He wore a dark grey tuxedo keeping in mind of my ivory gown, he also obtained matching tie and pocket square.
Our Story:
Chris and I met over 10 years ago through mutual friends in high school (circa 2008). It involved a few sessions of Rock Band and late-night AIM (AOL instant messenger) messages while I was away at college Three hours away. We did not start dating until June 6th 2012 and from then on we’ve built a beautiful life together.
The Proposal:
On April 1st 2018, Chris took me away for a weekend to celebrate a one-year move-in-anniversary! We went hiking at Mt. Tamalpais were on the East peak at noon, Chris asked me to be his wife!
Chris was incredibly Thoughtful when designing my engagement ring, he took into consideration things I had long ago hinted but also who I was now as a person. He even surprised me by telling my dad he was going to propose and surprising me by bringing them to dinner to celebrate our engagement!
