From the couple:

Our wedding colors were blush, navy and sage. With a spring wedding, we knew we wanted to play into colors that complimented the season. And, blush is my favorite color so it was inevitable it would be one of our wedding colors! I wanted the sage to come into play with all the beautiful flowers and greenery. As soon as we got engaged, we knew we wanted a spring wedding – it’s both of our favorite season! I love that it’s when all flowers come to bloom, and spring reminds Tim of baseball and getting to be outside enjoying the day.

Theme:

From there, we knew we were a mix of bohemian and rustic but wanted the day to feel romantic. The flowers were a huge part of our day. I’m a sucker for anything floral, and I was so excited to get to fill the day with flowers. When I found out our vendor had a circle arch we could use, I was ecstatic because I thought it was so unique and beautiful. The colors of the flowers matched the theme – blushes and creams exploding with eucalyptus leaves. When I saw my bouquet for the first time, it was even better than my dreams.

Venue:

We wanted the day to feel like “us” and to really highlight the fact that this was our one day to be surrounded by everyone we truly love. We chose a venue that was naturally beautiful so we could focus on personal touches. My mom made a huge “BEST DAY EVER” banner and it really speaks for itself! Also, neither of us are a fan of cake, so we went all in on donuts 🙂

Style:

My closet is already full of white and lace, so it’s no surprise I chose a dress that had amazing lace details from head to toe. Another one of my main priorities was being able to dance – and the dress was surprisingly light and airy and I danced the entire night. I always loved the romantic vibes of Hayley Paige dresses and I couldn’t be more in love with my dress!

Tim got a custom made navy suit and he looked like a movie star. The details were beautiful. I also asked him to trust me when I wanted a floral tie – and he received compliments all day & night!

Wedding Gifts:

My wedding gift to Tim was a Jack Mason watch from their aviator collection. Tim loves airplanes and the watch face resembles airplane dials and has a plane etched into the back.  We are an example of a modern day romance – we swiped right. We knew from our first date that we were meant to be together.

Proposal:

Our proposal story is so unique and very us. We had a camping trip planned with my best friend (maid of honor) and her husband + our dogs for Memorial Day weekend. After we setup our campsite, we went to explore the property. Little did I know, our mini hike was all in search of the perfect spot for Tim to get down on one knee.

As we were walking around, Tim asked to take a rest by a large fallen tree. He asked me to join, but I looked down and realized I was covered in fire ants! So Tim ran over to help brush off the ants, then looked me in the eyes and said he wanted to do this while we were doing something we both loved.  Denelle & Tony had a bottle of champagne waiting back in the tent!

Ceremony:

We knew we wanted our ceremony to be short and sentimental – so we could quickly get to the party! I had no idea just how special our ceremony would be. My brother was our wedding officiant and honestly, he crushed it. Tim and I wrote our own vows and I keep replaying the words in my head over and over again.

I had always thought I would say our vows first because I knew Tim might make me cry (in a good way). When Ben asked Tim to go first, I shot Tim a panicked look, and then was so in awe of the words he chose. Sure enough, I was crying. Before I could begin, I said “I thought I was going to go first!” and could hear all the guests laughing.

Second Ceremony:

We had a second very special ceremony the next day. Tim’s older brother, Ryan, is fighting a rare and horrible mitochondrial disease. Unfortunately, he has been in the hospital for the last 8 months and wasn’t able to make it to the wedding. While we knew the wedding was a party, a marriage is really about bringing two families together and didn’t feel complete without him.

So we went to the hospital the next day and my brother officiated the ceremony and vows all over again. I told Ryan he has to keep us accountable to our vows! Remember that a wedding is all about getting to celebrate with all your favorite people in one place. The day will fly by but allow yourselves to enjoy every minute of the day. I had the time of my life and wish we could do it all over again!
