This is a popular spot, so be prepared to navigate a crowd.
Engagement Photography at Legion Of Honor
Legion of Honor is one of my personal favorite Bay Area Engagement Locations because it offers a blend of sophistication and natural beauty, making it an exquisite choice for capturing couples. Situated atop a hill in San Francisco, this neoclassical museum overlooks the breathtaking vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Ocean. The cool thing about this location is you’ve got a neutral (white) backdrop for the bulk of your photos, but you can walk across the street and capture some nature. Alternatively, you can make the 15 minute trek down through the golf course to the cliffs and maybe, if you’re lucky, catch of view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Engagement Photography at RODEO BEACH
Rodeo Beach has to be one of my favorite go to spots for engagement sessions in the Bay Area. Rodeo Beach in Marin is an incredible spot for engagement photos, offering a perfect blend of rugged natural beauty and intimate coastal charm. With its dramatic cliffs, unique dark sand, and sweeping views of the Pacific, it creates a stunning, cinematic backdrop for capturing those genuine, romantic moments. The beach’s ever-changing skies — from soft golden sunsets to misty, moody mornings — add character and depth to every frame. Plus, its relative seclusion compared to other Bay Area beaches makes it ideal for couples who want a more private, relaxed experience to truly be themselves in front of the camera. Whether barefoot in the sand or snuggled up along the bluffs, Rodeo Beach makes our list for Bay Area Engagement Locations.

Nestled along the rugged coastline of San Francisco, the remnants of the Sutro Baths stand as a testament to the city’s rich maritime past.
