We didn’t share any classes together; however, our freshman year, Sam was a cheerleader and Nick played football, so we would watch the varsity games together.

Over the years we became good friends, study partners, and ran track together.

A the beginning of our senior year Nick finally decided that he wanted to be more than friends and asked Sam to officially be his girlfriend.

We always talked about maybe one day getting married, but that seemed like a far away distant possibility at 18.

At first, our relationship seemed like a high school crush, but our inability to stay apart from each other was really when we knew we were truly in love.

We never really managed to live in the same city since high school, but that never seemed to keep us apart.

Whether it was navigating the difficult task of managing our relationship during college at different Universities, or post-college while Sam completed her graduate degrees, we knew that we had something real, when staying together was more important than anything else.

After many years together, it became increasingly clear that we couldn’t imagine spending the rest of our lives with anyone else.

We both knew we wanted to marry each other eventually even early on, but the timing never seemed right, especially since we were usually separated by geographical distance.

When Sam finally graduated from her second and last masters program, Nick decided he was ready to close the distance, bring Sam home, and begin the rest of their lives together.

We are so excited to begin our journey together as husband and wife.
