We tied the knot on April 17th, 2015.

John and I have never attended a same-sex wedding before so this was our first!  This was also a first for most of our friends, family and guests so we wanted our wedding to have a traditional feel to emphasize that there is not much of a difference between a gay or straight wedding.

Our dog Buster is the sweetest little guy and an important part of our family so of course he had the role of ring bearer on our wedding day.

#LoveisLove was one of our hashtags and was an important theme of our wedding.

Our wedding was held at the beautiful Palm Event Center in the Vineyard. When we first saw the place we knew that this was where we wanted to tie the knot.

We were instantly in awe by the candle lit barrel room and its romantic and intimate feel.  Also, being surrounded by the beautiful vineyards this venue was exactly what John and I hoped to find.

The ‘first look’ of our ceremony site was very emotional for both of us.

[x_gap size=”4em”]

We had been planning, dreaming, and imagining how we wanted our ceremony in the barrel room to look and feel for many months.  When we finally saw it we were overwhelmed with emotions and happiness to see that it was exactly how we envisioned it.

We were so happy that we had friends and relatives from all over California, New York, and South Korea came to attend our wedding!

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding party! They are our best friends and closest family members who have loved and supported us from the beginning.

One thing that was unique about our wedding party was that we both had Groomsmen and Groomsmaids (since there is no Bride).

[x_gap size=”4em”]

The colors of our wedding were Black, White, and Tiffany Blue. We love the timeless and classic look of a black and white wedding.

[x_gap size=”4em”]

The flowers we chose were Calla Lilies because they are simple yet elegant.

[x_gap size=”4em”]

We had little Tiffany gift boxes on each place setting and Tiffany Blue dotted lights on the dance floor because Tiffany Blue is one of our favorite colors.

John took me to my first SF Giants game many years ago and since then we have attended many more games and have become really big fans.  Our dog Buster was even named after the Giants catcher, Buster Posey.

[x_gap size=”4em”]

Our guests sure did enjoy having an open bar all night and towards the end of the night we brought out custom glow sticks for our guests to keep the party going.

Our wedding was exactly how we dreamed it would be and was one of the happiest days of our lives!

Who says you can’t find true love online?  Way before Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter – the popular source for social media was www.Myspace.com. Seven years ago John saw James at a night club in San Francisco and he was supposed to be introduced to him by a mutual friend.  However, being too nervous and not having enough liquid courage John decided to skip the introduction.  The next day John sent a lengthy message to James on Myspace.com and James simply replied – here’s my number, call me.

Over the next several nights, we talked on the phone for hours.  Our first unofficial “date” happened on February 4th, 2008 where James met John for breakfast at Mimi’s Cafe.

On August 22nd, 2014 While vacationing in Los Angeles with some of their closest friends, James dropped to one knee and proposed to John at the Urban Lights Exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
